New: Friday Night Date Night
A first for the Affordable Art Fair: date night! The movie night or walk along the beach has been done – so take your special someone along for a new experience. You can do a quick check to see if your art tastes match up. Friday November 2nd you can visit the Affordable Art Fair for a romantic evening of art, including some great food and wines. Thank God it’s Friday!
Something for everyone
Have something you’ve always wanted to ask about art? You can ask the experts and auctioneers from Catawiki who will be hosting the Art Talks this year. They can tell you everything about purchasing, how to keep your art looking great and the different types of art. Or go along on and Art Walk with Marie Claire van Schooten from ‘BROWSE. BE INSPIRED. START COLLECTING’. Art doesn’t have to be difficult or inaccessible – and this inspiring walkabout will help you learn all that arty information.
The Affordable Art Fair doesn’t just spotlight the ‘big boys’ but also the new kids on the block can be found. The Platform Projects give individual artists a special podium. And for a family time out there will be special KidsTours on Friday November 2nd and a KidsSpace in the weekend for the aspiring artists.
The Affordable Art Fair Family
Artist Daan Oude Elferink will be showing again this year at the Affordable Art Fair Amsterdam – his work around the theme ‘’decay’’ can be seen at Ronen Art Gallery – a gallery who is part of all of the Affordable Art Fairs worldwide and is referred to affectionately as ‘a family gallery’.
“The Affordable Art Fair has a great format: Affordable art from artists from around the world. I have been to the fairs in several different countries. Not only because my work is exhibited but I love looking around at what else is on offer. And that is a lot!’’ says Daan Oude Elferink.
Selwyn Senatori, who generates ’instant happiness’ with his work is also part of the party this year with gallery Kunsthuizen. ‘’The Affordable Art Fair is a fair that I look forward to each year. It is an accessible event with affordable art for everyone and it is fabulous that the fair has grown into such a global success. I’m there from the first day in Amsterdam – you could say I have become an ‘AAF-veteran’.”
Artist Yvonne Michiels, who creates modern portraits and is represented by the KunstSalon says ‘’the Affordable Art Fair is an accessible and contemporary art fair that makes you happy’’. Yvonne’s work will also be part of the show this November.
