During WW II, the resistance staged a spectacular operation in Amsterdam:
an attack on the Amsterdam Registry Office. As from 28 March, exactly 75 years later, you can experience it at the Dutch Resistance Museum as part of the interactive exhibition Risk of explosion!
On 27 March 1943, a group of artists enters the Registry Office. They overpower the guards, tie them up and move them to Artis. Back inside, they place the explosives. The resistance fighters rush out of the building leaving a sign on the door: RISK OF EXPLOSION!
A while later, they hear a number of loud bangs: the attack was a success.Verzetsmuseum AmsterdamVerzetsmuseum Amsterdam
