Unseen is back, bringing the most ground-breaking and innovative
emerging artists from across the globe to Amsterdam.
Sixth Edition Unseen Amsterdam
Unseen Amsterdam, the leading platform for contemporary photography, returns
for its sixth edition. It will take place at the Westergasfabriek from the 22nd to
the 24th of September. Focusing exclusively on what’s new in the world of
photography, Unseen gives up-and-coming talent a platform to show their work.
Artistic Director & Business Director
Unseen is proud to introduce Emilia van Lynden as Unseen’s new Artistic Director.
Emilia has been an integral part of Unseen for over 3 years, as Head of Artistic
Affairs and Editor-in-Chief of Unseen Magazine. Unseen is thrilled that Emilia will
now manage the artistic direction of the organisation. Additionally, Unseen is in
the process of recruiting a Business Director. For more information about this
position, please visit www.unseenamsterdam.com.
Advisory Committee 2017
Unseen is honoured to announce an international Advisory Committee, consisting
of Alistair Hicks (writer, independent curator and advisor, UK), Darius Himes
(International Head of Photographs at Christie’s, USA), Lucy Conticello (Director
of Photography at M, Le Monde, FR) and Marcel Feil (Deputy Director, Artistic
Affairs at Foam, NL). In collaboration with the Committee, Unseen is expanding its
platform to successfully incorporate an increasingly global pool of new talent in
the field of contemporary photography, while also ensuring the quality of the
programme continues to improve and flourish.
Combining events such as the Fair, the Book Market and the Living Room (the
speakers programme), Unseen aspires to provide novel and diverse approaches
for engaging with photography. Welcoming galleries from around the world,
Unseen connects and inspires artists, curators, collectors and photography
enthusiasts on an international level. In addition to the Fair, Unseen has
interactive onsite and city programming, the schedule for which will be
announced in May.
